A flurry of checks – and fines – by the Carabinieri of the Aliquota Radiomobile of the Iglesias company and those of the Uta and San Sperate stations, who carried out an extraordinary service on the roads of Southern Sardinia during the night between Monday and Tuesday.

During the checks, a 26-year-old worker, resident in Decimomannu, was reported for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing, after being found in possession of 30 grams of marijuana . A 46-year-old man, resident in Villacidro, was reported for illegal possession of weapons, as he was found in possession of an 8-centimeter-long switchblade .

Again: two young people, aged 24 and 23, were fined for being caught driving cars without the required insurance coverage and without a driving licence, which they had never obtained. One of the two had already been caught red-handed two years ago. Both vehicles were therefore seized for confiscation. In addition, another driver, a 23-year-old worker living in Iglesias, was reported for driving under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol level of 0.61 g/l, and his licence was revoked.

During the entire operation, a total of 49 people were checked, 12 of whom were already known to the police, 41 vehicles and 24 commercial establishments.
