The anti-drug operation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Milan extends to Sardinia, leading to the arrest of five people in the provinces of Milan, Varese, Lecco and Cagliari. The precautionary measures were carried out last Tuesday, in execution of an order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Milan at the request of the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office.
In Cagliari, the military provided operational support to track down and arrest one of the people involved, a man already under scrutiny for links to drug dealing circles. His arrest is part of a broader investigation, started in March 2024, which documented systematic drug trafficking between Lombardy and Sardinia.
According to the reconstruction by the investigators, the group - composed of Italian, Moroccan and Albanian citizens, aged between 32 and 67 - operated mainly between Milan, Settimo Milanese and Cornaredo, but had branches and contacts also in Cagliari. The investigations, conducted with traditional methods and technical investigations, had already led, in November 2024, to the arrest of three other people.
During the operation, the Carabinieri also proceeded with a preventive seizure "for equivalent" of goods and sums of money for a total of over 615 thousand euros. The measure affected current accounts, cash and several valuable properties attributable to the suspects.
During the entire investigation, five arrests were also made in flagrante delicto. The four subjects subject to the last order were taken to prison in San Vittore (Milan) and Uta (Cagliari), where they remain at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
