The operation of the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Sassari started at the first light of dawn and ended with the application of 8 precautionary measures. The suspects are all Nigerian nationals, residing in the historic center of the capital: they are accused, for various reasons, of drug dealing in competition.

The military acted together with the reinforcements arranged by the provincial command including two canine units of the “Cacciatori di Sardegna” Airborne Squadron.

During the blitz, another 9 searches were carried out which resulted in a total of 28 people being reported.

The investigative activity followed by the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Company of Sassari had begun in November 2020 and made it possible to reconstruct the heroin trafficking for a turnover of about 30 thousand euros per month. The drug was found by a member of the criminal group and then sold in retail in the central streets of Sassari, in particular in the San Donato nursery and primary school area.

The suspects hid the drug in their mouths and then "spat" it for delivery to the customer who, in turn - in the middle of the Covid pandemic - hid it in his mouth to evade possible controls.

HA, class of '94, and HS, class of '95 ended up in prison, while LE, class of '92 were affected by the ban on staying in the municipalities of the province; SO, class of '92; OHD, class of '96; AJ, class of '94; ME, class of '87; TO, class of '90. They are all Nigerians, multi-judge and earners of citizenship income.

During the blitz an additional 292 grams of heroin, 7 of cocaine, 60 of marijuana and 5,200 euros in cash were seized, which led to another 5 arrests for drug dealing.
