A flurry of acquittals in the trial of an alleged organization that allegedly supplied drugs to various locations in Gallura , including the Costa Smeralda. Tempio District Court Judge Caterina Interlandi acquitted Paolo Di Luciano of Naples, Sergio Vitiello, Filippo Di Costanzo, and Stefano Albano, all implicated in investigations conducted in Sardinia and Campania .
These are the defendants (nearly thirty people were arrested) who chose the ordinary trial. They are talking about a vast organization operating in Cagliari, La Maddalena, Naples, and Olbia, with contacts in the tourist resorts of northeastern Sardinia (Costa Smeralda and the La Maddalena archipelago).
The defense's requests (Cristina Cherchi, Angelo Merlini, Domenico Putzolu, and Paolo Spano) were granted. Among the key figures acquitted were Sergio Vitiello and Filippo Di Costanzo from La Maddalena.
