Double anti-drug operation by the Cagliari Police.
In the capital, the agents arrested a 26-year-old of Gambian origin red-handed, on suspicion of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
On Tuesday, during the patrolling activity of the Flying Squad, which was intensified in the squares and streets of the centre following reports and complaints from residents and shopkeepers in the area, the police officers checked a group of men of foreign origin who were drinking alcohol on the benches in Piazza del Carmine , an area where drug dealing is particularly widespread.
One of them, the 26-year-old homeless and unemployed, was hiding several packages full of hashish and cocaine.
In Selargius, a twenty-two-year-old was placed under house arrest on the same charge.
The young man, during a house search carried out by the Falchi Group of the Flying Squad, was found in possession of approximately 50 grams of hashish, a precision scale and a knife probably used to divide the doses. During the activity, over 1,700 euros in cash, divided into small denomination banknotes, were found (inside a jar) and seized. The suspect, already arrested about a year ago for similar crimes, was placed under house arrest.
