After days of inconvenience, water quality returns to normal in the municipalities of Sarroch, Villa San Pietro, Pula and Domus de Maria. The Sarroch water purification plant, known as “La Tavernetta”, has started producing water with optimal parameters again thanks to the repair of the Tecnocasic pipeline that feeds the plant.

The failure, which had forced the temporary suspension of supplies from the Mulargia reservoir , had made it necessary to resort to the Cixerri reservoir, whose waters are of a significantly lower quality.

Turbidity values had risen above the safety threshold, with manganese concentrations between 600 and 900 micrograms per liter, well above the average of 70-100. Today, according to the analyses carried out, the quality of the treated water has returned within the legal limits.

Although the water produced by the water purifier has returned to being drinkable, it will take a few more days to complete the replacement of water in the water networks of the inhabited centers. Abbanoa technicians are already at work with purging and flushing operations to accelerate the full normalization of the service.

In the meantime, the replacement tanker service remains active in the affected municipalities, to guarantee citizens access to drinking water while waiting for the network to be completely restored.

The water emergency, which has put thousands of residents and tourists in the area in difficulty, now seems to be behind us.
