A large illegal cannabis cultivation , hidden in a large greenhouse built inside four warehouses , was discovered and seized by the Carabinieri in the countryside of Dolianova .

The raid began yesterday evening: soldiers from the Cagliari Provincial Command, the Investigative Unit and the Dolianova Company, supported by soldiers from the "Sardegna" Hunters Helicopter Squadron from Abbasanta, broke into the greenhouse and discovered around 10,000 Indian hemp plants , between 150 and 180 centimetres in height, all in an advanced state of maturation.
During the operation, two men believed to be responsible for managing the facility were discovered on site and arrested : a fifty-year-old farmer from Dolianova and a fifty-eight-year-old shepherd from Pimentel, both already known to the police. The two men are suspected of manufacturing narcotics.

The entire area and the associated plantation have been seized. This morning, specialized personnel from the Scientific Investigations Unit (RIS) will conduct further technical sampling to determine the drug's qualitative characteristics.

The Judicial Authority has already been informed and has ordered the precautionary custody of the suspects , who, after completing the usual formalities, were accompanied to the prison in Uta.
