Doctors underpaid at Brotzu, the company: «Our warnings unheard»

In the absence of territorial assistance, Arnas G. Brotzu ensures health services beyond the ultra-specialist ones typical of a 2nd level DEA, for a catchment area that is often regional. Despite this , its staff suffers from a disparity in economic treatment compared to the SSR Companies, a clear imbalance that generates strong discontent .
The Company, already in December 2022, brought this criticality to the attention of the Region. The disproportionate difference in productivity between ARNAS doctors and colleagues from other SSR companies appears to be an unfortunate disparity, especially considering the fact that ARNAS, with all its human resources, is taking care of patients who no longer find assistance in the territory due, above all, to the indiscriminate closure of departments in hospitals .
This is therefore an asymmetry that involves doctors with the same qualifications but not with the same workloads .
Immediately after the installation of the new Regional Council, it was the responsibility of the ARNAS Management to inform President Alessandra Todde of the state of health of a system attacked by many critical issues, some of which have a heavy impact on ARNAS and of which the Management has always underlined the seriousness.
Unfortunately, the situation has not changed .
This despite the disadvantageous condition suffered by the medical management of ARNAS, reported by the Management in charge, having been repeatedly noted and criticized even by politics . Indeed, one cannot be indifferent to such a disparity of treatment already highlighted for years by the Company and, most recently, by the Honorable Francesco Agus.
Regional law 01/23 in art. 5 has provided that "in order to equalize the average per capita levels of the contractual funds of the personnel, the companies of the SSR, subject to authorization issued by resolution of the Regional Council adopted on the proposal of the Health Councilor, can re-determine the contractual funds of the sector and management ". ARNAS hopes that the Honorable Francesco Agus, also in his capacity as a member of the Health Commission, highly sensitive to the subject, can promote and guarantor the timely adoption of the DGR authorizing the implementation of the contractual funds in implementation of the aforementioned law.
At the same time, the Company has sent the Region a request for an urgent meeting that will see the Management and the trade unions of the Medical Management united in reporting the growing discontent of the professionals who guarantee assistance also through agreements by "adopting" departments of other SSR companies that are short of staff.
Finally, we would like to point out that the integrative bargaining has been activated, in particular some contractually foreseen issues have been discussed and the related agreements have also been signed by the trade unions. For the bargaining on other matters, we are waiting for the allocation of regional resources, funds that will allow the Company to activate promptly .
