There has been a surge in public healthcare physician resignations in Sardinia, as well as across the rest of Italy.

A veritable "exodus" driven by grueling shifts, low wages, and other inherent problems of the national welfare system.

According to the unions, to reverse the trend, it is increasingly "urgent to strengthen the territory" .

Meanwhile, in an attempt to remedy the situation, the regional council unanimously voted on a motion for the recruitment of non-EU foreign doctors , a decision welcomed by the Coordination of Sardinian Health Committees.
