«We are not ruling out any hypothesis, from voluntary removal to suicide. But we believe we have important elements that lead to the murder." These are the words of the commander of the Iglesias carabinieri company, Fabio Alfieri, during the Videolina Radar special, hosted by Mariangela Lampis, on the disappearance of Francesca Deidda, who disappeared in the first ten days of May . Also in the studio are the criminal lawyer Leonardo Filippi, with Piero Arangino, former head of the Flying Squad of Nuoro and Cagliari, and the judicial expert of the Sardinian Union, Francesco Pinna.
Alfieri conducted the investigations, under the coordination of prosecutor Marco Cocco, which in recent days led to the arrest of Igor Sollai, 43 years old, the woman's husband: he, locked up in prison in Uta, is facing charges of voluntary homicide aggravated and concealment of a corpse.
«We can say that Sollai contradicted himself several times, he often changed his version, especially regarding the hours of May 10th», when the woman had vanished into thin air, explains Commander Alfieri, « in the following days he gave reasons for his actions, for then recant. And this lack of transparency convinced us on a certain path." That of the crime.
An explanation also arrives on the choice of the area for the search for the body: «We arrived at the Orientale because Sollai told us that he accompanied his wife there», adds the commander, «to entrust her to some people who arrived in a van. And then he said he had no further contact with her. We inspected the area, the most inaccessible points, and arrived at the Roman bridge. Where the finds were found ." These - a red-stained handkerchief, a beauty case and other objects - are being examined by the RIS, which will have to establish whether they can be traced back to the forty-two-year-old.
The searches are made very difficult by the vastness of the area to be searched: dogs will also be used in the next few days.
