Absorbed by an out-of-control and now outdated market: the government's confirmed cut in diesel excise duties is no longer enough to keep prices below the "psychological" threshold, as it's called, of 2 euros per liter.
According to official data from the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, updated this morning, average fuel prices on Italian roads continue to rise, with significant differences between regions: Sardinia remains in the medium-high range.
On the island, self-service diesel costs an average of €2,087 per liter, while self-service gasoline costs €1,996 per liter. Self-service LPG costs €0,859 per liter.
In the other regions, lower prices were recorded in Veneto (€2,068/l), Marche (€2,068/l) and Lazio (€2,070/l), while Calabria (€2,105/l), Sicily (€2,101/l) and Basilicata (€2,098/l) were even more expensive.
