The Municipality of Villasimius has officially opened the "Rottamazione-quinquies" tax relief program, which allows residents to settle their debts with the municipality at favorable terms. With the City Council resolution of July 28, 2026, published on the website amministrazionetrasparente.unionearda.it , the administration led by Mayor Gianluca Dessì unanimously voted to adopt the measure, introduced nationally and implemented for local authorities.

The simplified settlement applies to all tax and property debts (such as IMU, TASI, TARI, TOSAP, and advertising tax) and non-tax revenue , including administrative and Highway Code fines, entrusted to the collection agency (Agenzia delle Entrate-Riscossione) between January 1, 2000, and December 31, 2023. Only debts arising from convictions by the Court of Auditors are excluded.

By opting for the debt relief program, taxpayers can pay off their debt by paying only the original amount and the out-of-pocket costs for enforcement and notification procedures. Penalties, interest, late payment interest, and collection fees are fully waived.

The process for citizens will begin in the coming months. Here are all the deadlines . Starting October 15, 2026, the Revenue Agency will make the data needed to identify eligible charges available in the reserved area of its website. The deadline for taxpayers to submit their opt-in declaration electronically is October 16, 2026, to December 15, 2026.

The Revenue Agency will communicate the total amount due and the installment plan by February 28, 2027.

Payment can be made in a single solution by March 31, 2027, or in up to 54 equal bimonthly installments (with 3% annual interest starting from April 2027).

With this resolution, the municipal administration aims to achieve a dual objective: first, to offer citizens concrete assistance in regularizing overdue or "long-standing" debts that are difficult to collect. Second, to improve the institution's financial management by reducing pending litigation and reducing the doubtful debt fund, with positive effects on the Municipality's liquidity and spending capacity.
