The hearing before the Court of Review of Cagliari lasted just over two hours, called to decide on the request for mitigation of the precautionary measure against Igor Sollai, the forty-three-year-old in prison for aggravated voluntary homicide and concealment of a corpse for the death of Francesca Deidda, his 42-year-old wife, disappeared from San Sperate on May 10th. The body was found inside a bag in the countryside of San Vito, near the Roman bridge, in the San Priamo area.
The public prosecutor Marco Cocco this morning reviewed all the accusations and the serious evidence against Sollai. The lawyers Carlo Demurtas and Laura Pirarba have filed a brief in which they focus on a series of aspects relating to the precautionary measure with which the forty-three-year-old ended up in prison, focusing on the danger of escape, the repetition of the crime and the pollution of tests.
The defenders asked for a less severe measure than detention in prison, such as house arrest even with an electronic bracelet. The review judges reserved their rights.
