Manslaughter, corpse concealment and even arson .
These are the accusations that the Public Prosecutor of Sassari is ready to challenge against Fabiano Mario Saba , the 49-year-old from Sassari registered in the register of suspects in the investigation into the death of Antonio Masia , the worker, his colleague, who died on 25 July in Gesam waste treatment plant in Truncu Reale.
As ascertained by the investigators of the Flying Squad following the investigation and the autopsy, Masia, who was initially thought to have been the victim of an illness, was killed by a mechanical vehicle .
On August 6, a few hours after an inspection by investigators in the plant and the seizure of the phones of all employees, the plant was destroyed by an arson that for days had engaged the firefighters and created an environmental alarm.
The Prosecutor investigates to understand if the fire and Masia's death are in some way linked to each other, and if both facts are attributable to the investigated worker: the flames in fact could have been set to erase the traces of the fatal accident at work .
Some clarification could come from the investigations on the seized mobile phones.
Meanwhile, Saba, through the voice of his defense lawyer Pierfrancesco Cherchi Minniti , proclaims his innocence: "My client has already told the investigators that he is extraneous to the disputed facts , and reiterates it. We are waiting to have the investigative documents in order to give further answers ".
