Important event this evening, Friday 13 June, at 5:30 pm at the Museo della Bonifica in Arborea for the presentation of Daniela Pisu's book, "Quando decidi di soggiorno - Storie di generi, generazione, generatitività", a work with which in 2021 she won third prize at the IV edition of the literary competition "Faraglioni d'Ogliastra" organized by the publishing house Ars Artium.

Daniela Pisu, Sociologist, Specialist Social Worker, Family Mediator and PhD in Social Sciences, teaches Sociology and Education and Welfare Policies at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Cagliari.

Tomorrow's event is further enriched by the presence of Rosanna Carboni, President of the Nino Carrus Association, who will dialogue with the author.

“When You Decide to Stay” is a mix of issues between genders, generations and generativity that places the charm of Sardinia’s rural landscapes at the center of the narrative, without neglecting the attractiveness of urban centers. The book aims to shine a spotlight on small communities that, despite being sources of reciprocity and solidarity, are now affected by depopulation, a timeless demographic hemorrhage.

This is a precious opportunity for the local community, through which to recognize themselves in the stories of migration, in human destinies, in the places where we choose or happen to live, often in doubt whether to stay or leave.

Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
