The Union of Municipalities is moving towards dissolution. «We need a body that works, that plays its role, that is committed to giving certain answers to the territory, that plans and coordinates the future of Marghine also in economic terms».
This is what the mayor of Sindia , Franco Scanu, writes regarding the political crisis underway in the Union of Municipalities of Marghine, now chronic and without any glimmer of a solution, divided into two factions, with the president Gian Pietro Arca on one side, mayor of Silanus, (whose resignation is requested), with the mayors of Bortigali, Lei, Noragugume and Birori. On the other, the mayors of Macomer, Bolotana, Borore, Dualchi and Sindia.
«My communications», Scanu writes in a note, «to proceed with a meeting, even as a delegation between the two contending factions, have fallen on deaf ears. No response was received. Too much time has passed since the split within the assembly emerged in all its aspects, rendering the body immobile and inoperative. From the president in office I would have expected a proposal for reconciliation or a signal that could serve to calm things down and find a fair solution to the problems."
If we are not able to guarantee the institutional role of the body «we have the duty, the awareness and the courage to decree the dissolution of the Union of Municipalities of Marghine, to note the failure of local politics and to make the Municipalities free in order to to be able to join, if necessary, other pre-established entities and/or create new ones".
