The shepherds' protest reaches Cagliari . The general assembly has been announced for Monday, October 12th: it will be held in front of the Regional Council on Via Roma at 11:00 PM.
"It's not just the shepherds' crisis, it's the crisis of an entire community," wrote spokespeople Fabio Pisu, Gianuario Falchi, Mario Carai, and Nenneddu Sanna in a flyer.
The consequences of the negative situation in the countryside "affect families, affect the future of young people, and impoverish the territories," they say. "We are all affected: shepherds, farmers, families, and young people."
The decision to hold a meeting in the capital comes after two well-attended meetings held in Tramatza in recent weeks. After reviewing the situation at the first meeting, processors, consortia, and politicians were called to a meeting on October 2nd .
On both occasions, alarm was raised about the price of milk, currently around €1.40, which is being eroded by ever-increasing costs. This economic situation, according to herders' representatives, is reminiscent of 2019, the year of the "milk war."
