Creuza de Mà - Musica per Cinema turns twenty. The festival conceived and directed by filmmaker Gianfranco Cabiddu returns from July 22nd to 25th to Carloforte, on the island of San Pietro . Four days of screenings, concerts, meetings with the authors, live performances, and in-depth sessions dedicated to the relationship between music and the audiovisual world. Organized by the Backstage cultural association .

Guests include actress Carolina Crescentini and Francesco Motta, one of the most popular singer-songwriters on the contemporary Italian scene. He will be one of the stars of the nighttime concerts, alongside Mauro Palmas, Giacomo Vardeu, and Ginevra Nervi. One of the festival's most evocative moments is Natural Cinema: at sunset, Karen Hernandez's solo cello performance takes place in the village's municipal tuna fishery, creating a dialogue between images, nature, and sound. To celebrate this milestone, the image for the 2026 edition has been entrusted to Sardinian artist Luca Molinas.

"Twenty years is a significant milestone. Over the years, Creuza de Mà has built a unique space for music and cinema , for professionals, students, and new generations of artists," comments Cabiddu. The screening program will open with Andando dove non so - Mauro Pagani, una vita da fuggiasco, a documentary directed by Cristiana Mainardi. Creuza de Mà will also screen two titles that showcase the value of the Campus Musica per Cinema project: Tienimi presente by Alberto Palmiero, with music by director and composer Francesco Di Grazia, and Gioia Mia by Margherita Spampinato, winner of the David di Donatello Award for Best First Feature and Best Actress Award, with music by Alice Zecchinelli, also a Campus alumnus.

The selection concludes with two films dedicated to the world of music : Primavera by Damiano Michieletto and Su Maistu by Gianfranco Cabiddu , a documentary dedicated to Luigi Lai, the ninety-three-year-old considered the most authoritative living interpreter of the launeddas . The Campus - Music and Sound for Film and Audiovisual Arts returns, bringing together approximately 30 students from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and young musicians from various Italian educational institutions to participate in masterclasses, meetings, and workshops. The students' works will be presented, and the Campus Prize, named after Alessandro Speranza, a young composer who passed away prematurely, will be awarded.
