The daily contagions of Covid-19 in Sardinia remain close to three thousand, while the epidemic on the island continues to claim a significant number of victims, another nine in 24 hours.

With over 13,300 swabs performed, the positivity rate stands at 21.6%.

On the other hand, pressure on hospitals is decreasing, both in ordinary wards and in intensive care.

Here is the full bulletin issued by the Region on Wednesday 16 February 2022: “In Sardinia there are today 2,877 (yesterday 2,927, ed) further confirmed cases of Covid positivity (of which 2410 diagnosed as antigenic). A total of 13,304 swabs were processed, including molecular and antigenic.

The patients admitted to the intensive care units are 28 (-3).
The patients admitted to the medical area are 397 (- 3).
35584 are the cases of home isolation (+ 683).
There are 9 deaths (yesterday 8 victims, ed): two men aged 71 and 96 and a woman aged 81, residing in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari; two men aged 62 and 83 and a woman aged 90, resident in the province of Southern Sardinia; a 71-year-old man, residing in the province of Sassari, and two residents in the province of Nuoro ".
