Covid, 238 beds still active in Sardinia: "respiratory isolation" for positives with other diseases
The Region remodels hospital care: the emergency is a thing of the past but the network is not dismantled. A further 180 workstations are readyPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Ever lower numbers, the circulation of the coronavirus is now endemic and, except in rare cases, only causes the symptoms of a bad flu. But the Region does not completely dismantle the network of beds dedicated to Covid patients.
The latest council resolution describes an accordion system, with an expected increase in the event of a resumption of hospitalizations (currently unlikely) supported by a further channel: those who enter for different pathologies and test positive must be kept in hospital rooms with “Respiratory Isolation”. In short: the emergency is a memory but, they seem to think in the department, prudence is never too much.
The remodeling plan provides for 152 places in the medical area, 23 in the intensive and 63 in the sub-intensive. Of these, 131 (out of 238) are in Cagliari. Two posts for intensive care of newborns are also kept at the Aou.
These are the numbers of the current phase. But the enhancement device is ready in the event of an (undesired) regrowth of the curve which would lead to the saturation of the foreseen places. Then 100 would be added in the medical area, 31 in intensive care and 49 in sub-intensive care.
The decision was adopted while 6 serious patients and 121 in the medical area remain in all of Sardinia.
