Hours of work and dozens of bags filled with every type of waste: until yesterday evening, volunteers have literally saved the large pine forest in the hamlet of Cortoghiana from unimaginable degradation , which partly belongs to Aias, partly to Area and partly to the Municipality. But in front of the sea of garbage, property titles do not count: dozens of volunteers belonging to Lega Ambiente, chaired in Sulcis Iglesiente by Maurizio Sodu, the Sulcis Cortoghiana volleyball club, the Italian Red Cross, the Cortoghiana 1 scout group, the Cortoghiana senior citizens group and ordinary citizens, have targeted some points marked by incivility.

The demonstration was entitled "For a climate of peace", and was also attended by the mayor Pietro Morittu, the councilor for the Environment Manolo Mureddu and the councilor for General Affairs Nino Spanu. Devizia and Proloco collaborated.

«We discovered – says Maurizio Sodu – piles of scrap metal, tires, household furnishings, car bodies, mattresses and building rubble».

In some cases, the waste was deposited a few hours before the initiative because a previous inspection had been carried out in some places to understand the extent of the intervention to be carried out. Demonstrating that incivility is truly rampant.
