Copper thieves in the night at the Santa Lucia water lifting plant, in Capoterra, and the town is left without water.

Unknown individuals forced the door and entered the plant cabin, where they cut and took away the electrical cables that powered them.

Abbanoa technicians are on site and are working to restore the plant's operation. For the moment, it is therefore not possible to supply the municipal tanks.

Pressure drops and actual interruptions in supply are occurring in particular in the Santa Rosa neighborhood and in the areas surrounding the town center, explains Mayor Beniamino Garau.

"As for the rest of the city center and the hamlets," Abbanoa explains, "the technicians have carried out network maneuvers to compensate with power from local sources. Problems cannot be ruled out if the restoration proves more complex than expected."

When the supply resumes, Abbanoa explains, the water could be cloudy due to the emptying and refilling of the pipes.

Meanwhile, the hunt for the perpetrators of the raid has begun: "Thanks to the video surveillance service, we will soon discover who is responsible."
