Copper thief reported in Monserrato: 125 kilos of "red gold" in his car

Copper thief caught by Carabinieri in the parking lot of the Monserrato hospital.

The officers of the Quartu Company's Mobile Radio Section noticed him wandering suspiciously around the hospital's parking lots, a suspicious behavior that convinced them to search the man's car.

Inside the vehicle they found numerous plastic boxes filled with bundles of copper cables and pipes, weighing a total of over 100 kg, approximately 125 kg.

The copper, it was later discovered, belonged to a construction company in Cagliari: seized, it will be returned to its rightful owners.

The man, a worker in his fifties, was reported at large.
