Tyrrhenia Link construction and disruptions: the Metropolitan City convenes a meeting. The Metropolitan City of Cagliari, at the urging of Deputy Mayor Barbara Pusceddu and in consultation with Mayor Massimo Zedda , and following several meetings between Terna and the affected municipalities to plan the work, has convened a coordination meeting for September 10th at 10:00 a.m. at the Metropolitan City of Cagliari offices on Viale Ciusa. The meeting will focus on the work related to the Tyrrhenian Link construction.
Representatives of the affected municipalities, Terna, and the Roda company will be present at the meeting. "We are aware of the inconvenience these works will cause residents," explains Barbara Pusceddu, deputy mayor of the metropolitan area. "The goal of the meeting is therefore to review the progress of the activities, foster coordination among the various stakeholders, and address the main issues related to the project's construction."
" As an institution, we intend to ensure constant and direct dialogue among the stakeholders involved in the project ," adds Antonio Concu, Metropolitan Councilor for Roads, "to ensure particular attention is paid to the needs of the affected areas and the impact on existing roads and infrastructure. We also want to ensure proper restoration of road infrastructure to protect the safety of citizens."
Paolo Mereu, director of the Mobility and Roads Sector, also specified: "In coordinating the work in the municipalities involved, we intend to take into account the specific needs of the individual roads affected by the interventions, thus limiting the negative impact on traffic." During the meeting, the progress of the activities and the work schedule will be reviewed, with the aim of sharing the timing and methods of intervention and addressing any critical issues in a coordinated manner.
Particular attention will therefore be paid to the management of construction sites and road occupations, interference with traffic and underground utilities, and any need to introduce diversions, restrictions, or temporary traffic changes. The topics for discussion will also include the methods of carrying out the work , any restoration work on affected infrastructure, and the coordination and communication procedures between Terna, the contractor, and the competent local authorities.
