Six million euros for the cleaning of canals and riverbeds, to try to limit the harmful effects of heavy rains: the Regional Council has allocated them to the Metropolitan City of Cagliari and the Provinces, on the proposal of the regional councilor for Public Works Antonio Piu.

"These are additional resources," explains the member of the Council Todde, "to strengthen the pursuit of continuity in the maintenance activities of the hydrographic network. I am convinced that it is important to guarantee the recipient bodies a financial contribution to intervene in the most critical situations of their respective territories and to guarantee better efficiency of the hydraulic functioning of the waterways, with benefits for the general conditions of safety, security of people, and protection of property."

The resources are allocated to each entity on a proportional basis: 50% in relation to the number of inhabitants and the remaining 50% in relation to the territorial surface area .

The financing constitutes an extraordinary contribution with a restricted destination whose beneficiaries are identified in the in-house companies through the Metropolitan City of Cagliari and the Provinces.
