The Regional Council, upon the proposal of Environmental Protection Councillor Rosanna Laconi, has approved the criteria governing access to funding for Sardinia's civil protection volunteer organizations for the 2025 financial year.
The resources allocated by the 2025–2027 regional stability and budget law, combined with those made available during the budget adjustment process, total €2.7 million: €2.35 million for the purchase of vehicles, materials, equipment, and supplies, and €350,000 for maintenance costs and insurance reimbursements for volunteers and vehicles. This financial commitment strengthens the operational capacity of the associations and ensures the continuity of a vital service for local security.
"Civil protection volunteers," emphasized Councilor Laconi, "represent an irreplaceable resource, built on commitment, expertise, and solidarity. We provide associations with concrete tools, strengthening their capacity to operate and clearly recognizing the value of their role. The approved criteria guarantee equal opportunities and clear rules, so that every contribution translates into greater safety for communities."
