The surprise coup came after the inspection of Conca Entosa at the end of May. Emanuele Ragnedda's lawyers and top consultant Dario Redaelli entered the room where Cinzia Pinna was killed to challenge the findings of the Cagliari RIS. Prosecutor Noemi Mancini surprised everyone by signing the notice of investigation conclusion, bringing to a close (at least as far as the Tempio Prosecutor's Office is concerned) the investigation into the shocking crime of September 12, 2019. Based on the expert opinions of the Carabinieri of the Cagliari RIS and a team of specialists (forensic pathologist Salvatore Lorenzoni, forensic entomologist Valentina Bugelli, forensic toxicologist Silvio Chericoni), the prosecutor drew conclusions from the case. Emanuele Ragnedda, 41, known as the producer of the world's most expensive Vermentino, now knows exactly what he's accused of; it's all spelled out in the indictment contained in the 415 bis notice. On the night between September 11 and 12, 2025, after an argument, he killed Cinzia Pinna (33) by firing several gunshots at the victim (a 9mm Glock). The murder occurred in the living room of the house in the Conca Entosa farmhouse (Palau).

Abject motives

According to Noemi Mancini's conclusions, Ragnedda acted in a context that precludes self-defense. The Arzachena businessman is charged with voluntary manslaughter, aggravated by abject motives. This means that if the prosecutor's office prevails, the trial will proceed to the Assize Court without any possibility of alternative proceedings; a life sentence is a possibility. The battle of Ragnedda's defense attorneys (criminal lawyers Luca Montella and Gabriele Satta) will be precisely this: to prove that the man fired after being attacked by the victim, who was armed with a kitchen knife. On this point, it should be noted that the defendant's expert consultant, ballistics expert and forensic expert Dario Redaelli, has evidence of the presence of abundant traces of Ragnedda's blood at the crime scene. In addition to voluntary manslaughter, prosecutor Mancini charges concealment of a corpse and illegal possession of a gun. The indictment does not include any sexual assault.

The reconstruction

The prosecutor's reconstruction is clear. Ragnedda met Cinzia Pinna in Palau on the evening of September 11th; she may have asked for help. The two took cocaine in the car before arriving at the Conca Entosa farmhouse. Something happened inside the house that has yet to be reconstructed; what is certain is that Ragnedda shot the victim at least three times, sitting on the couch. The prosecution's case leaves no room for mitigating circumstances. The defense, however, argues that Ragnedda acted out of fear after being stabbed in the mouth. This will likely be the central issue of the trial.
