“Ciak si Pianta” is the project to offset the CO2 emissions emitted by the organization and participants of the Solinas Award 2024 , which is currently taking place in La Maddalena .
Yesterday afternoon, in the garden of the National Park headquarters, some juniper trees were planted. The “Green Thumb Kids” did it , a group of young people with disabilities who take care of a vegetable garden at the Environmental Education Center of the same Park, in Caprera.
"The task of planting them was entrusted to these kids," says the commissioner, Rosanna Giudice, "with the commitment that they will then take care of the trees and follow their growth."
The “Ciak si Pianta” plaque is placed in front of each tree, to recall the context, that of a film award, in which the event takes place .
"These kids will work for something that is useful not only for them but for all of us," the commissioner emphasizes. "All Italian cinema adheres to the protocols for the defense of the environment; an environment that is asking us to take actions to protect it, and we are responding," says the director of the Solinas Award, Annamaria Granatello, "the Solinas Award responds and, in the territories in which it operates, tries to take eco-sustainable actions."
Once the event is over, the “Prize” will go away, but the trees will be looked after by “the young people of La Maddalena, who already take care of a vegetable garden, which seems to us to be the best solution”.
