"For us children, for her grandchildren, and for the entire family, she has always been a symbol of courage, tenacity, and resilience. She taught us to face life with its ups and downs, overcoming pain and difficulties without ever losing our smile and confidence, with just the right amount of humor and lightheartedness."
Words of love that touch the heart, written in an emotional letter by the daughter of Venere Serri, known to all as Venerina, the new centenarian of Chiaramonti who celebrated her 100th birthday at the "Le Rondini" retirement home, surrounded by the affection of her family, the facility's staff, and the mayor of Chiaramonti, Luigi Pinna. Born in Ornavasso, Piedmont, the daughter of a Carabinieri marshal originally from Sardinia, Venerina lived for thirty years in Cagliari, where she graduated from the University of Pharmacy.
As a pharmacist and mathematics teacher, she dedicated her life to work and education, leaving a significant mark on the community. She now lives in the Le Rondini residential community, which, along with her family, friends, and fellow villagers, paid her a warm tribute.
"This is the third centenary that we are celebrating in Chiaramonti this year, testimony to a long-lived, strong community rooted in the values of solidarity," said Mayor Pinna. "The municipal administration extends its heartfelt thanks to the residential community for their availability and care, to Venerina's family for sharing this moment with all of us, and to all those who participated in the celebration, making it even more special."
