Over thirty years of activity, humanitarian projects, scholarships and training: the handover of the Porto Torres Rotary club, founded in 1989, becomes an opportunity to take stock of the actions carried out and to present the new program still to be implemented.

In an atmosphere of friendship and solidarity, the transition from the now past president, Leonetto Conti to the new president, Piero Tolu, 58, took place, who wanted to introduce some innovations on the new path, focusing his speech on women who imagine the change of an activity that will characterize his annual assignment. A party with the traditional delivery of the "collar" as a sign of the annual rotation of offices within the same club.

The Rotarian ceremonial, held in the restaurant hall of the Libisonis Hotel, opened on Saturday with the classic ringing of the bell before giving way to the flags, in the presence of all members and numerous guests. The outgoing president, Conti, illustrated the various activities carried out during his presidency, while for Piero Tolu he underlined the presence of women in the club. "My work will be supported by men and women - she said - the latter will make a significant contribution, in particular the Inner Wheel and Rotaract group which has 16 girls and two boys".

The ceremony continued with the presentation of the recognition certificates given by past president Conti to the various members of the club. Past president Paolo Pinna was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow title, as a sign of appreciation and recognition for his tangible contribution in promoting friendly relations between peoples from all over the world. The Governing Council that will assist Piero Tolu is composed not only of the past president, but also of the vice president Giuseppe Spiga, the secretary Fernando Ruberti, the treasurer Giovanni Maria Carboni, the prefect Maria Antonietta Rozzo and the councilors Monica Sanna, Pellegrino Iandolo and Antonio Turra.
