The median was blocked and traffic was at a standstill, with travel times reaching twenty minutes from the former incinerator to the junction with Via Cadello.

The tailbacks were caused by a chain reaction accident involving three vehicles: two pickup trucks and a small car. The car was the worst hit, crushed between the two larger vehicles, resulting in severe damage to the front and rear.

No injuries were reported, several local police officers were on site to manage the situation and traffic disruption.
