CGIL National Secretary Maurizio Landini is in Sardinia to attend the union's regional assembly and the demonstration for Gaza, both scheduled for Thursday in Cagliari.

The meeting—titled "A New Social Agenda in Sardinia and Italy"—will be held from 9:30 a.m. in Pavilion D of the Fair . "It will be," a statement explains, "an opportunity to take stock of the regional and national social and economic situation and to advance the union's proposals, especially in light of the upcoming budget law . Similar initiatives are taking place throughout Italy in preparation for the day of action in Rome that the CGIL has already scheduled for October 25."

At the end of the assembly, at 2 p.m., a procession will depart from the Fair to the Regional Council building, where a demonstration will be held "against the massacre of the Palestinian people and the occupation of Gaza by the Israeli government and army."

During the event, there will also be a meeting with Regional President Alessandra Todde and Regional Council President Piero Comandini.
