Fairytale scenery, certainly, but also inconvenience. The early snowfall at the end of November caused school closures in many towns in the Nuoro area: in some cases, the snowpack exceeded 20 centimeters— 50 in the Gennargentu —and the rain continues to fall steadily.

The ordinances were issued by the mayors of Gavoi, Desulo, Fonni, Tonara, and Ollolai, among others. Salt spreaders were deployed overnight, but they weren't enough to clear the roadway: Sadali is surrounded by white clouds, and traffic is difficult.

In Atzara, Mayor Alessandro Corona was forced to cancel the town's Autumn in Barbagia event because "it takes only a moment to go from autumn to winter in Barbagia. We hope the weather improves. We apologize for the inconvenience," he wrote. As the hours passed, the situation improved, and the mayor invited visitors to participate.

A similar situation also occurs in Ogliastra: the following photo comes from Villanova Strisaili.

In Esterzili, provincial road 114 was closed due to the fall of a large branch, broken by the weight of the snow on the branches.

"First of all, let's say the snowfall has been particularly intense and precipitation is still ongoing in the Gennargentu area," says Provincial President Giuseppe Ciccolini. "Currently, no critical issues have been reported, or at least none have been reported to the Province, either by local administrators, law enforcement, or the public. Certainly, there will be some disruption, especially in the Tascusì Pass area. All operators have been alerted by the Province and are fully deployed, although it is obviously advised against traveling without snow chains or for non-urgent travel."

"The situation is fairly under control, and the entire provincial and municipal snow plan has been operational since early, and the roads, at least the main ones, are fairly passable," explains Fonni Mayor Daniela Falconi. "Obviously, it's snowing heavily, so caution and the right equipment are needed to get going."

Twelve Anas vehicles are in action on the roads, from north to south of the island.

Intense storm surge also hit Gallura, with snow blanketing Mount Limbara: here, vehicles have been working since early morning to clear the access road.

The cold front has also reached the Cagliari area: this morning it started snowing in Burcei, and the peaks of the Sette Fratelli mountains have been blanketed in white since the early hours . Snow also fell in Silius.

On the other side of the island, in Sulcis Iglesiente, firefighters had to intervene following a heavy hailstorm.
