He killed a cat and attempted to eliminate three others with morsels poisoned with metaldehyde-type pesticide and slug killer . This with the precise aim of "thinning out" the neighbor's cat colony from which he claimed to be disturbed with the animals that often entered his garden.

The man, a 51-year-old employee from Villasor , with no criminal record, was however discovered and reported at large by the police for mistreatment and killing of animals.

The poisoned "baits" had been placed by the man on a tray placed on the wall of his home.
