Manhole covers damaged by cars in Castiadas, and Mayor Eugenio Murgioni announced increased patrols by local police. The manhole covers, in fact, are those located on the sidewalks of Via Gallura and Via Ogliastra, and according to initial speculation, they were damaged by vehicles passing or parking on the sidewalks , behavior prohibited by the Highway Code.
"I have instructed the technical office," the mayor emphasized, "to immediately inspect the affected areas to assess the extent of the damage and proceed as quickly as possible with the necessary interventions to restore the damaged structures. At the same time, I have asked the local police to intensify their monitoring and surveillance on the affected roads and in other areas of the municipality where similar situations occur, ensuring that the traffic regulations are respected and appropriate measures are taken against those who do not comply."
Finally, Murgioni urges everyone not to confuse the inappropriate behavior of individual citizens with urban decay: "Castiadas," he added, "is a vibrant, caring community that cares about its surroundings, thanks to the commitment of the administration, municipal offices, and the vast majority of residents who respect the rules."
