Acquitted because the facts were not proven. Today in court in Sassari, Judge Paolo Bulla acquitted Leonardo Pattarino and Giuseppe Borzachiello, charged with manslaughter in the 2017 death of Blagoje Milanovic.
The 70-year-old man fell into the sea near Castelsardo with his car and drowned, having been unable to escape before the vehicle sank.
Pattarino, defended by the lawyer Lorenzo Galisai, was the legal representative of “Cigno srl”, while Borzachiello, assisted by the lawyers Danilo Mattana and Fabrizio Demurtas, was at the time commander of the port of Castelsardo.
Their charges were that they had not installed the necessary signage to make the platform visible , a prosecution hypothesis rejected by the defense, who recalled that the dangers of the area had already been reported to the municipal administration.
