Swimming prohibited in the sea waters of La Marina di Castelsardo. The communication of the parameters came from Arpas which notified the Municipality of the outcome of the water sample collections carried out on Tuesday 16 July, so that it could issue a specific union ordinance temporarily banning bathing. The findings show a percentage of fecal bacteria above the legal norm.

In the sea of the Marina beach (971 meters of extension), Arpas technicians have detected the exceeding of the legal parameters of Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci. Among the causes identified is the runoff of water of unknown origin coming from a tunnel behind the beach and flowing into the sea.

Mayor Maria Lucia Tirotto issued an ordinance imposing a temporary bathing ban, informing bathers with appropriate signs. In the following days, Arpas will proceed with new sampling to verify the return of the parameters.
