A massacre of mirrors, taillights and windows . In Sassari, in the last few nights, cars have become prey to vandals and thieves from the historic center to the outskirts. But there is a street that is becoming the symbol of the raids: via Salvatore Farina, in the Monte Rosello neighborhood. "We are a few meters from the police station - reports Valentina, a resident - and here they burn cars, break them and steal from inside the cabins".
She herself has been the victim of two thefts in just a few months, the last one just last night. "We pay taxes and we are not protected . In my building there are many people who have been hit multiple times. At this point we are thinking of doing patrols but it is not right, it should be the State that protects us." Fear is the widespread feeling in the area, both of being attacked and of finding your car destroyed by an arson attack.
"When I saw the car in that condition I started to tremble." Furthermore, the stolen goods, in many cases, are of very little value, ranging from earphones to a few cents, but to repair the windows you need hundreds of euros. "I have a disabled son and I can't continue like this. With the cost of the broken windows I pay for my son's therapies." The conclusion is one: "There are many cameras in the area. Someone should intervene and arrest those responsible."
