The future after the broken candle. This morning in Sassari, in the church of Sant'Apollinare, the Carpenters' Guild "crowned" the new obriere, Romolo Abis who takes over from Pierluigi Contini, who has just concluded his annual assignment.

But the memory of the last Faradda, last August 14, when at the end of Corso Vico the chandelier broke, is still alive. An event that shocked everyone and threw the Carpenters into despair.

After months, thanks to the contribution of various institutions, a new candle is being created, thus allowing the Gremio to participate in the next Descent with the symbol of the Festha Manna.

"The wife of a gremiante said - the exponents of the corporation report from the altar - that the candlestick was like a child who fell asleep in his mother's arms. And the image of us carrying it in tears, in the midst of the moved crowd, is what we want to preserve".

The ceremony was also attended by the mayor Giuseppe Mascia who declared that the rise of the Carpenters' Guild, after what happened, is an example for everyone. At the end of the event in the church, the flag was taken to a house in the center so that the crown could be replaced, a gesture that is associated with the role assigned to the new worker.
