The guided tours of the Romanesque church of Santa Maria 'e Contra in Cargeghe, during the "Romanesque Days" event organized by the Sardinia Romanesque Island Foundation, were a success. Approximately 200 visitors enjoyed the architectural beauty, history, and events surrounding one of the smallest Romanesque churches in Sardinia.

For the first time, it was possible to visit the Romanesque churches of Figulinas and Coros in a single tour, including the ancient Abbey of the Holy Trinity of Saccargia, of which Santa Maria 'e Contra belonged, as they belonged to the Camaldolese order. The church stands out among Sardinian Romanesque architecture for its unusual size, holding the record for the smallest Romanesque church on the island.

This characteristic not only makes it unique, but also offers interesting insight into the different types of sacred buildings present in Sardinia during the medieval period and their specific functions within local communities. The success of the event was made possible by the Cargeghe Municipal Library, the Civil Service team, and the municipal administration, which sponsored the event.
