She was injured while hiking and was rescued by the Alpine and Speleological Rescue teams .
The accident occurred on Mount Arista, in the Cardedu area . The 67-year-old German woman was hiking along the trail with her family when she suffered a sprain and was unable to continue . The Alpine Rescue operations center was alerted in the afternoon by 118. Active duty staff from the Ogliastra station rushed to the scene, supported by 10 other technicians from the same station. After reaching the injured woman, they stabilized her, placed her on a stretcher, and transported her using a sedan chair to the parking lot, where she was picked up by the ambulance of the Le Grazie di Bari Sardo association for onward transportation to the hospital.
The firefighters also took part in the intervention.
