A woman was hit by a car last night as she crossed the road in Carbonia . The driver of the car, a 48-year-old, immediately stopped to provide first aid, then the 118 operators arrived on the spot - in via Ogliastra - and transferred the 75-year-old to hospital for the necessary checks.

The man was subjected by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile to a breathalyzer test, resulting in a positive rate of 0.85 grams per litre. His license was revoked and a charge for driving under the influence followed.
