It took almost a month to get an answer, but now we know that this extremely dangerous component was in the bottle of carbonated water served at a bar in the center of Carbonia to Alessandra Madeddu, an engineer from Carbonia who ended up in the hospital with severe burns to her tongue and esophagus.

This is a crucial detail in the investigation opened on December 30 by the Carabinieri , alleging negligent assault. The person directly involved, who had decided to remain silent until the results of the tests were available, is now taking action. Alessandra Madeddu, through her lawyer Simone Saiu, has filed a formal complaint .


The owner of the establishment, Eleonora Chiaramonte, had cooperated fully during the checks carried out immediately after the incident, explaining that the water had been purchased recently and that the bottle was sealed.
