Carabinieri conducted extensive checks on the roads of Medio Campidano overnight.

During the operation, the military arrested a 40-year-old local man, unemployed and already known to the police, in the center of Gonnosfanadiga for possession of narcotics with intent to deal.

The man was stopped while traveling in a small car with a 49-year-old resident of the same municipality, also unemployed and already known to the police. During the search, the driver was found in possession of 17 doses of cocaine, as well as more than €200 in banknotes of various denominations , consistent with drug dealing. The passenger , however, was found to be carrying a 17-centimeter switchblade, without valid justification.
The search, which included the vehicle and the driver's home, revealed additional quantities of marijuana inside the car, along with a second switchblade. In the man's home, additional quantities of cocaine and marijuana were found, as well as precision scales and packaging materials.
All the material was seized, pending its filing at the Crime Records Office of the Court of Cagliari.

After reconstructing the incident, the 40-year-old was taken to the police station and, after completing the usual formalities, placed under house arrest , pending the validation hearing scheduled for tomorrow morning. Both individuals were also charged with carrying weapons or objects capable of causing offence , as ordered by the judicial authorities.
