Accident and traffic chaos in Pirri.
A small car overturned on Via Riva Villasanta, right in front of the Municipality headquarters: the driver was taken to the hospital with a yellow code, while the vehicle remained on its side, in the middle of the road.
Although it is a key artery for Pirri, the street is very narrow and the presence of the crashed vehicle blocked any possibility of passage.
Three local police patrols intervened on the scene, and they had a hard time trying to restore traffic to normal: the direction of traffic on Via Riva Villasanta was reversed and all motorists still stuck in traffic were directed back to Via Cillocco.
Meanwhile, the firefighters, arriving the wrong way from Piazza Italia, cleared the street.
"How did it do it?" is the question many are asking. According to an initial reconstruction, the small car struck the right rear wheel of a parked vehicle, which in turn collided with another, losing traction. But only after the investigations are complete will we have any certainty.
