Oristano is one of the provinces where car insurance costs the least in Italy. It is the third cheapest nationwide, with an average cost of 306 euros, behind only Potenza (306 euros) and Enna (293): Assoutenti states, after the new data provided by Ivass. Prices continue to grow, however: in November they recorded a +6.6% on an annual basis, with an average cost of 416 euros.

Analyzing the Ivass data, we discover that the most expensive province is Naples, with an average of 600 euros per policy: almost double that of Oristano . Prato follows with 586 euros, in third place Caserta with an average of 537 euros. Between the capital of Campania and Enna, the cheapest, the gap is a good 307 euros.

As for increases, car insurance prices recorded the strongest in Rome : an increase on an annual basis of +10.5% in November, followed by Sondrio (+9.8%) and Aosta (+9.5%), while the slightest was in Crotone (+2.3%).

" The escalation of car insurance rates is unsustainable, inexplicable and clashes with the record data recorded by insurance companies in the last year , with company profits reaching 8 billion euros, up 249% compared to the previous year", commented Gabriele Melluso, president of Assoutenti. "To calm the policies, it is now urgent to apply the ruling of the Constitutional Court that makes direct compensation optional. Furthermore, a reform of the supervisory authority and a governance composed of personalities independent from the insurance world are urgently needed".
