They intervened to recover a stolen car, two carabinieri were involved in an accident, fortunately without serious consequences.
The incident occurred this morning at 5:30 a.m. on State Road 126, in the Guspini area.
Officers from the San Gavino station were engaged in traffic and assistance operations to enable a tow truck to recover a car that had recently been stolen in Terralba. Despite signage and precautions taken to warn others of the ongoing operation, another vehicle crashed into the tow cable of the recovery vehicle and then into the Carabinieri service vehicle.
The Carabinieri were not on board: although they managed to move away to avoid being mowed down, they were still involved in the collision. After the impact , both the officers and the driver required medical attention, which was provided by 118 emergency responders.
And the findings were brought in by other Carabinieri: from the Samassi station for traffic management and from Arbus for the surveys.
