Armed with gloves and garbage bags, they cleaned up the Maddalena beach, overrun with garbage after the recent storm surges. This morning, a team of volunteers, supported by the Barracellare company led by Captain Ignazio Simone , met to clean up the Maddalena beach, where—in addition to vast beds of seaweed—the sea had deposited all kinds of waste.

"We decided to organize this event to clean up the beach after Hurricane Harry ," say Barbara Cocco and Luca Salvetti , the promoters of the initiative. "After a morning's work, we managed to fill about fifty bags of rubbish.

The sea also returned traps and nets, material that we were unable to collect in the bags : in any case, it was a productive day, cleaning up the beach seemed like the best way to return to normality after the bad weather of the last week."
