Three people are under investigation for the cultivation of cannabis, over 1,500 plants, almost all ready for harvest, found by the Carabinieri (September 2025) on a plot of land in the Arzachena countryside. This emerges from the documents presented to the preliminary hearing judge in Tempio Pausania.

Prosecutor Sebastiano Carpinato has requested the trial of Gianni (Giovanni Maria) Cuccu and his brother Alessandro, aged 58 and 48, farmers from Sant'Antonio di Gallura, accused of establishing and maintaining a plantation in the La Raiola area. However, the investigation has expanded to include a third party. Also under investigation is Arzachena businesswoman Silvia Pincioni, owner of the land and a building. The woman, represented by lawyer Immacolata Natale, maintains she has no involvement in the charges.

The Cuccu brothers are also charged with possession of one kilo of cocaine, nearly nine kilos of hashish, and detonating fuse and quarry detonators. The defense team (Giovanni Azzena, Gianfranco Grussu, and Carlo De Cesaro) has requested an expert assessment of the explosives.
