The State Police conducted a major anti-drug raid in Gavoi, Ollolai, and Lula . The result was seven restrictive precautionary measures, including prison and house arrest, and two orders to remain in a confined space, carried out by order of the Nuoro investigating judge.

The investigation, conducted by the Nuoro Police Headquarters' Flying Squad , assisted by the Gavoi Police Station and coordinated by the Nuoro Public Prosecutor's Office, led to the identification of two criminal groups cooperating to run a drug trafficking network.

One group, dedicated to the cultivation and sale of significant quantities of marijuana, was active primarily in the municipalities of Gavoi and Ollolai; the other, based in Lula, specialized in cocaine trafficking, with retail sales in the province of Nuoro.

During the investigation , a cannabis plantation was identified in the countryside, documented with aerial imagery. Images from the suspects' cell phones were also crucial to the investigation.

"Over the approximately eight months of activity," explains a statement from the Nuoro Police Headquarters, "the investigations have led to the seizure of over 1 kg of cocaine, more than 3 kg of marijuana, and smaller quantities of hashish and synthetic drugs such as MDMA and Ecstasy, as well as €5,000 in cash and illegally held ammunition."

One of the suspects was also charged with illegal possession of a firearm and animal cruelty : he allegedly killed a female dog in his sheepfold that had just given birth to a litter, an episode he captured on video and stored on his cell phone.

Over 70 men were employed during the execution of the precautionary measures and searches carried out, with the collaboration of the "Sardegna" Crime Prevention Unit, the canine units of the State Police and the Penitentiary Police.
